This presentation takes a targeted look at common issues observed at companies during 3rd party audits regarding Risks and Opportunities. Questions addressed will include: How much risk management is enough? What is an opportunity? How is an opportunity different than Continuous Improvement? What do auditors look for?

Observations from the field: Communication Plans 7.4

This presentation will look at examples of common problems companies experience with Section 7.4 Communication. Questions addressed during this presentation will include: Is a documented plan needed? How comprehensive must the plan be? What do auditors look for?

Speaker Biography

Originally from New Jersey, Ken has lived in the Fox Valley since 1991. Ken received has a BA in Economics from Blackburn College and an MBA from Aurora University in 1991 and 2001 respectively.

Ken is the owner of Quality Business Management Systems which specializes in helping companies establish quality management systems and achieve process improvement. Ken has over twenty-nine years of quality related experience including 15 years with a Tier1 Automotive supplier.

In addition to consulting and training Ken is an active contractor with SRI Quality System Registrar performing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, ISO 45001 and Integrated Systems, 3rd party audits.

Ken has the following ASQ Certifications: CQE, CQA, CSQP and CSSBB.  He is a Lead Auditor with Exemplar Global and a PMP.

Ken recently volunteered as the Chair of the Process Improvement Committee with ASQ Fox Valley Section 1208, and as an Illinois Manufacturing Excellence (ILPEx) Examiner, applying the Baldrige Criteria with Illinois companies.

He and Mary Jo, his wife of 21 years, have two children attending Oswego East High School. Ken enjoys audiobooks and is an avid Golfer.

Note: Registration closes three days before the meeting in order to give the venue enough time to order food and the section volunteers enough time to prepare meeting credentials. If you do not see the Register Now button, registration has been closed for the meeting. Walk-ins are welcome, though we cannot guarantee a meal.

3. Be a paid member of the ASQ Fox Valley Section 1208.
