Email Management

How did the section get my email address?

ASQ sends us a monthly database dump with your name, member number, and, if you opted-in to sharing, your email address

Why should I allow you to send me email?

We are sensitive to email overload and limit our messages to:

  • Newsletter – keep you informed
  • Section meeting announcements – education & networking
  • Educational & training opportunities – advance your career
  • Surveys – better serve you and the other members of the section
  • Messages from other ASQ sections and divisions, vetted by this section’s Leadership Committee for value to our members.We do not sell our mail list.

We use your email address to:

  • Send receipts
  • Send login credentials
  • Recover lost login credentials
  • Send RU letters when needed

What if I want individual receipts, credentials, etc, but not your newsletter, survey, and other mass email?

Opt-in at ASQ to share your email address with the section - see How Do I Change My Email Preferences?.

When you get your first email from us, click the link at the bottom of the message to unsubscribe from section email and click the confirmation. This will update our database to show you not accepting mass email, just individual messages sent only to you.

If you want to re-subscribe to section mass email, send a message to [email protected] with your name, member number, email address, and that you want to receive section email.

Why aren't I getting section email?

There may be several reasons you aren't seeing our messages. If these suggestions are not clear or don't work, please contact [email protected]

  • You have not given ASQ your email address and opted-in to receiving section messages, or the email address you provided is no longer valid - see How do I change my ASQ Email preferences
  • Your email provider or client thinks our message are spam and either blocked them or placed them in your spam folder. Our website provider suggested whitelisting:

How do I change my ASQ Email preferences?

ASQ allows you to opt in and out of receiving different types of email. If your email address changes or if you want to change the email you receive, please update your information on the ASQ site. To receive section email, such as meeting announcements:

  • Log into your ASQ account
  • Select My Account

  • Scroll down to the Opt-in Preferences section on the right and click CHANGE.
  • Click in the box to get the list of items you already receive (top row) and the items you can add (following rows). Click on each item below the first row you want to receive ASQ shares your email address with us only if you opt in to receiving Section Communication. As noted above, you can direct us to send messages that go only to you, such as receipts, or all section email,such as newsletters and surveys.
  • Click on any item you no longer want to receive in the top row, then press the Del/DeleteCli key on your keyboard. Repeat if you want to stop receiving another item.
  • Click the Save button at the bottom left of the Opt-in Preferences section.

 


Section Login Credentials

I just joined the section. How do I get my login credentials?

Welcome to the Fox Valley section. We get a member update every month from ASQ and will send a welcome message with a link to update your password or a welcome letter if you did not opt-in to sharing your email address with the section. If you need credentials sooner or did not share your email address, please contact [email protected] with your name, member number, an email address we can use to send your credentials, and whether you want to receive section email.

How do I recover my user name or password

Go to the Member Area and click the Forgot Username/Password link at the bottom right. If your email address is in our system, a message will be generated with instructions on updating this information. If you don't get section email or the message is not received, contact [email protected] with your name, member number, an email address we can use to send your credentials, and whether you want to receive section email.
